KATSU Shintaro was a famous Japanese actor in the ‘60s and ‘70s. He starred in the famous series Zatoichi as a blind masseur. Although known to have had a troubled life as a heavy drinker and drug user (which is a serious offense in Japan) with multiple lovers on the side, he had a successful career. The character Fujitora in the manga series One Piece is based on him.​
